Porsche Panamera V6 announced

Porsche has revealed details of the 3.6-litre V6 engine that will join the Panamera range in June.

advertisment

The engine produces 296bhp and 296lb ft of torque, and will be available on two and four-wheel-drive versions of the car.

The engine is 30kg lighter than the current V8 unit in the Panamera S and 4S. This helps the two-wheel-drive V6 Panamera to do an average of 30.4mpg and emit 218g/km of carbon dioxide. The four-wheel-drive version manages 29.4mpg and 225g/km, when equipped with Porsche's PDK double-clutch gearbox.

Buyers can also low-rolling-resistance tyres, which lower CO2 output by 5g/km on both cars.

Prices will start from 61,461, rising to 66,929 for the Panamera 4. Further details will be released when the car is unveiled at the Beijing motor show on April 23.
