New Chinese car manufacturer Qoros has revealed the car it will display at the Geneva motor show in March in order to launch the brand.

The Qoros GQ3 saloon is appearing at Geneva in production-ready form, while the company will also display two concepts that are expected to go on sale in the near future.

Former BMW designer Gert Volker Hildebrand has designed the Qoros line up, which will be built in Changshu, China.

The Qoros GQ3 is the first of many models that will be based on this platform, said Hildebrand. The technology will allow us to develop a complete model family in a very efficient manner.

The GQ3 is a saloon that is aimed to rival the likes of the Skoda Octavia and Ford Focus, and is set to arrive in China in late summer 2013, before launching in Europe later in the year. There has been no decision on whether there will be a right-hand drive version, so it is not yet certain whether it will be available in the UK.

The two concepts on the Qoros stand are a petrol-electric Cross Hybrid Concept, and an estate concept. Qoros has stated it intends to launch a new model every six months, so these two models should be on sale by the end of 2014.
