Seat unveils sporty new Ibiza coupe

Here are the first pictures of the Seat Ibiza SportCoupe - the three-door version of the new supermini.

It's been designed to look more aggressive than the five-door model - for a start, it sits 17mm lower, but it also has lowered headlights and a repositioned radiator grille.

Seat says the sporty FR and Cupra versions will also get the same styling when they are launched in the coming months.

Other details on the SportCoupe are sketchy at best - Seat says precise engine and trim configurations are yet to be confirmed - but we do know that a seven-speed, double-clutch, semi-automatic gearbox will be available.

It's optional on 104bhp 1.6-litre versions of the car, and Seat says the gearbox is the first of its kind ever to be fitted to a supermini.

The five-door version of the Ibiza goes on sale this month, but Seat hasn't said when the SportCoupe will arrive, or how much either car will cost.
