Mercedes-Benz has launched a special-edition CLS model that offers a big performance upgrade.
The CLS Grand Edition has an upgraded version of Mercedes' 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, with power up by 47bhp over the usual 320 CDI engine and pulling power up from 398lb ft to 435 lb ft.
Fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are unaffected, at 37.2mpg and 215g/km respectively.
Other extras include special 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with dark surrounds and matt-coloured radiator louvers. Palladium Silver metallic paint comes as standard, but there are four other colours available.
Mercedes' Cornering Light Function and Active Light System are also included. Cornering Light Function enhances visibility by using the low beam headlamps and fog lights to illuminate the area to the side of the car when driving through tight bends. The Active Light System improves road illumination in corners by turning the headlights as you turn the wheel.
The CLS Grand Edition is available now at £48,445 - a premium of £2495 over the standard model, but Mercedes says it represents £2142 of added value for buyers.
Only 560 cars will be available in the UK, with deliveries starting in July.
