Best cars for less than £125 per month

These days, the vast majority of new car purchases are done on PCP finance deals. That's great news for car buyers because, by using a PCP deal, you could end up driving something that was initially out of your budget as you're only financing part of the car's value.

You might think that for £120 per month, your choice of car would be extremely limited. But our list contains small hatchbacks, city cars and even an SUV.

Here, we count down the top 10 deals from our Target Price research, which reveals the most you should pay for a new car. Each deal is based on 15% of the value of the car, combined with the manufacturer's finance discount allowance. All deals are for three years, with a 30,000-mileage limit.

Ssangyong Tivoli 1.6 SE

Ssangyong Tivoli

Target Price cost per month £124 Target Price (on the road) £13,240 The deal Three years at 0% APR

The Tivoli is a budget small SUV, but one that's surprisingly roomy inside. It's also well priced, and SE models offer great value, giving you Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and air conditioning as standard. The 1.6-litre petrol engine should be fine if you'll mainly be driving around town, but it's slower than the turbocharged options you'll find in rivals such as the Nissan Juke.

Kia Picanto 1.0 1 5dr

Used Kia Picanto Hatchback (17-present)

Target Price cost per month £123 Target Price (on the road) £8864 The deal Three years at 4.9% APR and £500 finance deposit allowance

The previous Kia Picanto was an also-ran in the city car class, but the latest version is our reigning City Car of the Year. It offers excellent space for this class, is good to drive and even entry-level 1 models get the basics, including split-folding rear seats and electric front windows. This 1.0-litre petrol engine offers low CO2 emissions too.
