Top 10: most reliable family cars-revealed

3. Mercedes CLC (08 - 11)
The Mercedes CLC might be reliable enough to be ranked third by Warranty Direct, but it's let down by a jiggly ride, poor handling and an interior that feels distinctly cheap. On the up side, it's surprisingly practical for a three-door hatchback.

2. Honda Insight (09 - 14)
The Insight was Honda's answer to the Toyota Prius, but while it's even more reliable, it's also noisy and painfully slow. It suffers from a lumpy ride, too, and the steering is both quick to respond and very light, a combination that can be unnerving.
