Used test: Audi Q5 vs Porsche Macan vs Volvo XC60 verdict

The Audi Q5, Porsche Macan and Volvo XC60 large SUVs are all fantastic used buys, but which is best? We have the answer...

New Volvo XC60 vs Audi Q5 vs Porsche Macan

Our verdict

The Porsche Macan is a very desirable machine. It’s the most fun car here to drive, as well as the quickest, plus the ride is refined and the interior is of a good quality. For the driving enthusiast in the market for a premium used SUV, it’s an excellent choice, especially if you can afford the extra it costs over the other two here. For many, it'll be worth the extra. In this test, though, it has to come in third place.

For those wanting extra practicality among other bonuses, we have the Volvo XC60 in second place. It has lots of rear leg room and a good boot, plus it offers a smooth ride.

Our overall victor is the Audi Q5 – it might not have a Porsche badge but it is a very capable all-rounder with few notable drawbacks. We're big fans of its engine, interior quality and practicality, in addition to its pleasant drive.
