Dear What Car?,

After years of living in the countryside my boyfriend and I are moving to the big city, and our old SUV is just too big for the streets around where we live. We still want an SUV, though, because I like to sit high up and we like to have lots of space for weekend activities. We drive a fair number of miles anually, so we're open to a petrol or diesel engine, but we'd definitely like to keep things on the small side. Our budget is equally small – around £17,000.
