These three options show the breadth of different cars you can get for the same money.
They're all good buys and sensible purchases, but the What Car? office seemed to be in the mood for a used bargain in a straw poll of this three-way shoot out.
The Fiesta's a super car, but just one of 15 What Car? staff members asked would have gone for the supermini.
The BMW rolled in second with three votes, while the Golf took the lion's share with the support of 11.
