Zoopla to show electric car charging information for every home
Leading property website Zoopla has partnered with Vauxhall to display EV charging information across its property listings...

Prospective house buyers will now be able to view electric car charging information when they’re looking at a house on property website Zoopla.
Zoopla has launched the online tool as part of a partnership with Vauxhall, meaning buyers and renters will be able to find properties with home chargers already installed, or ones that are near public charging stations.
Users of the Zoopla website and app will be able to filter properties to only show those with a home EV charger installed. The new tool will also use data from energy provider Octopus Energy to display the distance between a property and the nearest public charging point in the same way Zoopla already does for train stations and schools.
This comes after a Vauxhall-backed survey showed that 40% of UK drivers will take into account proximity to EV charging when moving homes.
Of the survey’s 2000 respondents, one third said that a lack of nearby charging infrastructure would deter them from a property – with that figure rising to 84% among EV drivers.
This joint venture forms part of Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain campaign, which works to accelerate on-street EV charging infrastructure across the country. With 40% of UK households not having access to a driveway, Vauxhall notes that public charging infrastructure will play a critical role in the country’s journey to electrification.
Recent Zoopla analysis of all its listings found that just 1.6% mention EV charging, despite electric cars accounting for almost a quarter of new car sales, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT).
With the introduction of the new online tool, Zoopla will aim to highlight properties with EV charging as it becomes an increasingly important feature for prospective house buyers.
