Ford Ecosport due in 2015
The Ecosport – which would be a rival for cars such as the Nissan Juke and Skoda Yeti - was revealed at the Dehli motor show in January and is being given its Chinese debut in Beijing this week.
Ford planned for the car to be sold only in markets such as India, Brazil and China, but the car has been so well received that it is now rethinking its strategy.
Insiders admitted that the Ecosport does not have the interior quality required for the European market, so we'd certainly have to wait for upgrades at the model's face-lift, meaning a UK on-sale date around 2015.
No upgrades are required to its engines, however. It shares current Fiesta engines as well as the three-cylinder Ecoboost 1.0-litre engine that's just been installed in the Focus.
