The CR-V is an excellent family vehicle with loads of space for everything you are likely to carry.
It's also a relaxing car to drive over long distances due to light steering and clutch combined with a good driving position. These attributes also make it an ideal woman's car. As Honda say, it will go some places where an ordinary car cannot but that is about the limit of it's four-wheel-drive capability.
It has certainly proved useful towing our caravan across wet grass fields when a standard front-wheel drive would lose traction. Steering will be too light for some and straight line stability is not the best.
The engine is very quiet with plenty of power and the gears shift smoothly through the range without fuss.
First gear ratio seems too low but on the plus side is ideal for towing and hill starts. The only problem we have had is the seat material becoming "bobbly" on the front edges indicating premature wear. Honda has replaced the affected seats without quibble.
All in all, it's an excellent vehicle, which we would consider buying again.
