The X7 is still an enormous SUV with big alloy wheels to match, so inspect each rim carefully for kerb damage since repairs will be costly.
When viewing a used car, always follow our used car buying checklist.
Is a used BMW X7 reliable?
This generation of BMW X7 didn't feature in our latest What Car? Reliability Survey. However, its smaller sibling, the BMW X5, appeared in the luxury car class and finished second out of eight models featured, with a good overall score of 96.4%, so this might be some indication, as the two cars share some of their underpinnings.
Meanwhile, BMW, as a car brand, ranked a decent eighth out of 31 manufacturers featured. It achieved an overall score of 94% in the survey, which is better than it has done in recent years. It proved more reliable than Audi and Mercedes but less reliable than Honda and Lexus.
