Ford Tourneo Custom

Our overall rating: Rated 3 out of 5

There are big families, and there are big families. And then there are families so big you need to consider buying a van-based nine-seat MPV like the Ford Tourneo Custom.

It’s a people-carrying version of the Transit Custom van and, on paper, with Ford’s latest Sync 3 infotainment system and the manufacturer’s reputation for making cars that are good to drive, it could promise more than just lots of space. Eight seats come as standard, but that can be increased to nine as an optional extra, and the Tourneo Custom is available in two lengths.

In terms of competition, it’s all predictably van-shaped. There’s the trio of the Citroën Spacetourer, Toyota Proace Verso and Peugeot Traveller, as well as the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.

But is the Tourneo Custom the party bus of choice? Read on in our review to find out.
