2013 Ford Kuga pricing announced

The 2013 Ford Kuga will cost from 20,895 when it goes on sale in January more than 1000 less than the old car's current starting price.

The entry-level front-drive Zetec model will use the 148bhp 1.6-litre Ecoboost petrol engine, while the range tops out with the 29,795 four-wheel-drive 161bhp 2.0-litre diesel Titanium X with the Powershift automatic gearbox.

Buyers can also choose a 178bhp version of the 1.6-litre petrol or a 138bhp version of the 2.0-litre diesel. The lower-powered diesel is the cleanest motor in the range, with CO2 emissions of 139g/km CO2 considerably lower than the current models 154g/km.

The 161bhp 2.0 TDCi with four-wheel-drive in Titanium trim is expected to be the best-seller. It has CO2 emissions of 154g/km and price of 25,545, and comes with fold-flat seats, reclining rear seats, adjustable load floor, hill-start assist and cruise control as standard.

Extra technology in the new Kuga includes a parallel parking system, blindspot information system, and Sync Fords voice-controlled in-car information system all on the options list.

The 2013 Kuga has 82 litres more boot space than the previous model with the seats in place, and an additional 200 litres with everything folded flat.

It will hit showrooms in January, and order books are open now.
