Audi A1 2.0 TDI launched

Audi has added a second, more powerful diesel engine to its A1 line up.
The new 141bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, giving the the Audi A1 range a direct rival for the Mini Cooper SD.
Audi quotes a 0-62mph time of 8.2 seconds, average economy of 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 108g/km for the new model. Prices start at £17,945.
Audi has also announced two new trims for the A1 range.
Black Edition trim carries an 1100 premium and is available only with the most powerful engines; the new 2.0-litre diesel and the 182bhp 1.4-litre TFSI petrol.
Based on S line specification, it adds black styling touches to the grille surround and numberplate, tinted rear windows, 18-inch alloy wheels and LED daytime-running lights. The interior upgrades are electronic climate control and a 180-watt stereo system.
Contrast Edition trim can be added to Sport models for a £1350 premium. Its available for all engines apart from the most powerful 1.4-litre petrol and adds a bodykit and roof trim in contrasting colour. There are bi-colour 17-inch alloy wheels, too, and a double-blade roof spoiler can be added at extra cost.
The new A1 2.0 TDI, Black Edition and Contrast Edition models are available to order now.
