Best and worst sports cars for less than £60,000
Which sports cars should you consider buying and which should you avoid? We take a look at what's available for less than £60,000
1. Alpine A110
As we said at the start of this article, you buy a sports car for the way it drives, and it's this that gives the Alpine A110 top spot. No other car available for semi-sensible money is as precise or involving; motoring doesn't get much more rewarding than this.

And the sports cars to avoid...
Mercedes SLC
A refresh of the old SLK, the Mercedes SLC is a refined and well-equipped two-seater. Unfortunately, it's not much fun to drive, which is a serious flaw in a sports car.
Nissan 370Z
The 370Z coupé is noisy, its interior feels cheap and running costs are high. Sharp looks and a rather tuneless V6 petrol engine can't save this sporty Nissan.
