Looking for a campus runaround to kick off the new term? You could do worse than check out the Honda Jazz, which has come top of the reliability chart for cars costing less than 3000, according to independent warranty provider Warranty Direct.
After analysing 50,000 of its policies, Warranty Direct revealed that there was just an 8% chance that the previous-generation Jazz would breakdown. With average repair bills of 231.59 when things did go wrong, the Honda got a reliability score of 18.53.
Next best was the Vauxhall Astra with an 11% chance of breaking down with a score of 26.90, while Toyota rounds off the top three with the Yaris awarded a score of 27.35.
While Citroen's C3 was worst of the 10 cars listed, with 23% of cars going wrong in an average year, repair bills for the car weren't too bad with an average cost of 211.90.
