7. Peugeot 3008 1.2 PureTech Allure
List price £24,565
Peugeot's original 3008 was What Car?'s Car of the Year in 2010, and the latest version came close to matching that achievement last year. 6. Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI SE 7 DSG Seat
List price £29,025
This seven-seat SUV is one of the most practical cars you can buy, so it's perhaps not surprising that it's consistently among the most searched for cars on Whatcar.com. It's a comfortable choice with a smart interior, although you do have to be careful when speccing it because it's easy to push the price well north of £30k if you start adding options.

5. Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv-D SE-L Nav
List price £25,695
The new Mazda CX-5 is based on its predecessor, so it's no more practial. But it looks a lot more stylish and has a much classier interior. It's also one of the most comfortable large SUVs around, soaking up poorly surfaced roads very well. And yet the CX-5 is still fun to drive because the well-weighted steering gives you the confidence to place the car exactly where you want it.
