The Cupra Born offers agile handling and a smart interior, and you could save a packet on one with our deals...

If you’re in the market for a sporty electric hatchback, then the Cupra Born might be the car for you. It’s essentially the same as a VW ID 3, but it adds sharper handling and a classier interior – and if that all sounds good to you, then it might sound even better when you take into account how much you can save with our leasing deals.

Indeed, you could put a Born on your driveway for as little as £267 a month. To do that, you’ll need to sign up for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 6000 miles, and an initial payment of £3200.16. Yet even on a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1959.54), monthly payments are just £326.59.

You can have your Cupra Born with one of three battery sizes: 59kWh, 77kWh and 79kWh. The entry-level option, which is our Deal of the Day, is good for an official range of 264 miles and the power from its electric motor is pleasantly sprightly.

If you want more oomph, then the 79kWh unit powers the VZ hot hatch, which can sprint from 0-62mph in a speedy 5.6sec.

Where the Born really stands out is its agile handling. Indeed, it’s more engaging than the MG4 EV, and it’s a hoot to drive around town.

Standard equipment doesn’t disappoint on the Born, with even entry-level models being kitted out with everything you need. Our Deal of the Day comes with V1 trim, which gets you LED headlights, climate control, parking aids, adaptive cruise control and 19in alloy wheels.

If you like your creature comforts, though, it’s worth considering stepping up to V2 trim, which adds a head-up display, heated seats and a heated steering wheel – ideal for the harsh UK winters.

Inside the Born, you’ll find a pleasant driving position which offers you a largely unobstructed view ahead, and it certainly looks and feels classier than an ID 3 inside, with higher quality materials. Its 12.9in infotainment screen is clear and logically laid out, and it’s wirelessly compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Even the tallest of drivers won’t have any issues stretching out in the Cupra Born, in either the front or rear seats. Boot space isn’t bad either, with enough room for six carry-on suitcases – which should suit the daily needs of most drivers.
