A new trim level for the Fiat 600e has been introduced, sitting in between the entry-level RED trim and range-topping La Prima.
Dubbed Icon, it adds 17in alloy wheels, – instead of the 18in alloys on La Prima – two-tone fabric seats, front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree reversing camera and a sat-nav. Additional creature comforts like wireless phone charging and keyless entry and start are also standard.
All that kit comes on top of what’s available with entry-level RED trim, which includes climate control, LED headlights, a heat pump and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring.
Stepping up to La Prima trim gets you an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, a hands-free tailgate, adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree parking camera.
Those same specifications, including new Icon trim, come with the 600e’s petrol hybrid equivalent, the regular 600.
At the heart of the 600e is a 54kWh battery alongside a 154bhp electric motor, yielding an official range of 250 miles – less than most rivals, including the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Niro EV, but it’s decent enough for a small electric SUV.
Prices for the Fiat 600e Icon start at £31,535, which is £1500 more than entry-level RED and undercuts all versions of the Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV and Peugeot e-2008 – and most versions of the MG S5 EV are only marginally cheaper.
