Ford's 100 years in photos  12/52

Ford is celebrating 100 years in Britain by delving into its archive of photographs.

This week we're taking a look at how emissions from the company's Bridgend factory were cut down in 2002 with the help of some new solar panels.

Not just a few, either. Ford covered the roof of the Welsh factory with 25,000m2 of panels, which is enough to generate 110,000kWh or electricity each year (despite our weather).

Ford says the panels at the Bridgend factory were the first of their kind at any car plant.
