Do fuel-saving gizmos work?
There are many products that claim to improve economy by ionising, magnetising or lubricating fuel. Generally, its fair to say that they dont work.
Even if they do and lubricants are the most likely to fall into this category the gains in economy are unlikely even to pay for the product youre using, let alone save you money.
For instance, when we tested high-lubricity fuels available from major suppliers such as BP or Esso, we found the added cost wasnt worth it. If you want to save fuel, slow down and change up to a higher gear sooner.
