Kia Cub concept car revealed
* Has the same engine as the Kia Proceed GT
* No plans for production
Kia has unveiled its Cub concept car at the Seoul motor show.
A four-door coupe that's less than four metres long, the Cub is a preview of a rival to the Nissan Juke like the Kia Provo concept car that was shown at the Geneva motor show earlier this year.
Kia's signature grille is present, but in a sleeker, shallower guise than on current production models. LED lights, large wheels, flared wheelarches and narrow wing mirrors give the Cub a sporting look.
Entry to the cabin is made easier by the rearward opening back doors and the lack of B-pillars.
Inside, the Cub has four seats, an uncluttered dashboard and a gesture-controlled infotainment system.
Power comes from the 1.6-litre petrol engine that features in the Kia Proceed GT. In the Cub it's been tuned to produce 201bhp, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 143mph.
Kia says it has no plans to put the Kia Cub into production.
