Lexus might recall some GS and LS models

Lexus has admitted that it's considering a recall on some GS and LS models after discovering a fault with the valve springs in their engines.

advertisment

The company says that the fault can lead to abnormal engine noise or unstable idling. In rare instances, the engine could stop, but Lexus says that no accidents have been reported as a result of the problem.

About 3200 cars in the UK including the GS450h, GS460, LS460 and LS600h might be affected and Lexus is preparing to take some sort of field action, which could include recalling the cars in question.

However, the company says it will ensure that any necessary action causes the least possible inconvenience to its customers, and that it will inform any affected customers as soon as possible.

Are you affected?
More information is expected tomorrow, but in the meantime, the company advises any worried customers to contact their local Lexus centre or call the Lexus Customer Relations team on 01737 367601.
