All models now come with an auxillary input socket in the glovebox.

From April, face-lifted SLK, SL and CLS models come with the option of UCI (Universal Consumer Electronic Interface).

This links the iPod or other MP3 players to the car's stereo. This means audio tracks from an iPod appear in the instrument cluster and in the centre console colour display.

The system also charges at the same time and can be operated using the multi-function steering wheel.

The UCI will cost 160 (plus the price of a connection cable) and will be rolled out across the rest of the range in late 2008/early 2009.

Mini
All Minis (excluding the Convertible) get an auxillary input as standard. A 3.5mm jack cable is all that's needed to play your iPod or MP3 player through your car's stereo.

You can also pay 195 for a complete iPod interface. This allows you to plug your iPod into a lead in the glovebox, and control it using the car's stereo.

Nissan
Nissan doesn't offer any iPod or MP3 player options on the Qashqai, X-trail, Navara, Pathfinder, Patrol, Murano or 350Z.

You do get an auxillary input socket on the Jazz and Note as standard, so you can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the car's stereo using a 3.5mm jack cable.
