New saloon hints at future Kias

This is the new Kia VG, which gives an idea of how next generation Kias will look.

The all-new saloon will go on sale in Korea at the end of 2009, replacing the current Opirus model in Korean, American and European markets. There are no plans to bring it to the UK.

A new look for Kia
A version of the VG's front grille is expected to be a feature of all forthcoming Kias. It's used on the face-lifted Cee'd, which goes on sale in October, and all-new Sorento SUV that's available from early 2010.

Other design details from the VG are also expected to filter through to new Kias, particularly the next-generation Magentis saloon.

Hyoung Keun Lee, senior executive vice president of Kia Motors, said: 'The VG clearly demonstrates the next stage in Kia's design evolution and showcases our new design principle of "sophistication by simplicity".'
