Panel van, Kombi and Shuttle: the flexible new Transporter range
No matter what your business is, there's a Volkswagen Transporter to suit your needs...

There’s always one. That kid at school who’s clever, good looking and brilliant at everything they turn their hand to. People want to get to know them, to hang out with them, and while others try to emulate them, no one really gets close. Well, the commercial-vehicle equivalent is the new Volkswagen Transporter.
This new Transporter is genuinely multi-talented, it’s available as a spacious panel van, a people-carrying Shuttle, and as a Kombi, which marries the best of both worlds. Add to that an impressively diverse range of efficient powertrains, and the new Transporter represents a remarkably flexible vehicle that has enduring appeal across a wide variety of commercial needs.

Volkswagen Transporter Panel Van
The new Volkswagen Transporter might just be the perfect business partner. Whether you’re a sole trader who depends on their vehicle every day, or a fleet manager who’s looking for the most capable and cost-effective panel van out there, the new Transporter fits the bill.
Available in both a short and long-wheelbase variant, the short wheelbase has a 60mm longer load compartment than its predecessor and is 128mm wider, so can carry up to 5.8 cubic metres of essential kit or deliveries. Are you the sort who can’t pack light for a job? Then the long-wheelbase Transporter has your back, with its 6.6 cubic metre load capacity.
Accessing the load area is a breeze, too – at the rear you have the option of two conventional doors or a rear tailgate, while the sliding side door is huge.
A comprehensive range of powertrains means there’s an ideal choice available to suit all needs and requirements. The range includes the 2.0-litre TDI engine, available as a 6-speed manual with 110PS or 150PS, or with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with 150PS or 170PS. All TDI engines come with front-wheel drive, while the 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system is available as an option from 150PS upwards.
If you’re fully on board with the electric revolution, the e-Transporter is your go-to choice. It features an electric motor that generates either 136PS or 218PS, powered by a 65kWH battery, and it can travel up to 201 miles on a charge.
The forthcoming 232PS plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model coming later in 2025 completes the range and offers maximum flexibility.
Day-to-day usability is front and centre in the new Transporter, so it features steering-wheel buttons that have been designed to be easy to use when you’re wearing gloves. There’s also a digital cockpit to keep you abreast of everything, from speed, fuel and battery range, to sat-nav directions and your audio set-up. The 13-inch central touchscreen allows you easy access to all of the new Transporter’s vital systems, and is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Volkswagen Transporter Shuttle
So, what if you don’t need to carry around a whole lot of tools and equipment, and instead simply need to transport people and their luggage? That’s where the new Volkswagen Shuttle comes in, because it’s a working vehicle that offers executive-level transport.
For a start, the Shuttle is enormous – both the short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase models have a huge amount of room.
The cabin features eight seats as standard, and you can increase this to nine should you desire. And that space is put to good use, because even when every seat is filled, there’s plenty of room for all occupants to stretch out, sit back and relax – or sit up, concentrate, and get on with some work.
As with every new Transporter-based model, there’s a choice of 2.0-litre TDI engines with either 110PS, 150PS or 170PS, or there’s a fully electric version with 136PS, 218PS or 286PS, so no matter whether your daily transportation duties involve high-mileage jaunts from airports, or shorter city-based trips between offices, there’s a Shuttle that will be right up your street. There will also be a plug-in hybrid version coming along in 2026, which allows you the flexibility of a petrol engine, combined with the performance, refinement and potential cost savings that battery power affords.
The Shuttle has a truly generous amount of standard equipment. There are two trim levels on offer, the Shuttle Life and Shuttle Style, available in both TDI and BEV variants.
Life models feature all the sort of kit that just makes journeys easier, such as LED headlights and LED running lights, plus electrically operated and heated door mirrors. Parking sensors feature front and rear, and are supplemented by the rear-view camera, while cruise control with predictive speed limiter takes the strain out of higher-speed journeys. Lane Assist and Front Collision Warning with braking keep you and all of your passengers safe when you’re on the move. The fully electric Shuttle Life variant also adds a heat pump and heated front seats.
Style contains items that add a sense of occasion to your Shuttle trips, including privacy glass, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and sun blinds for the second-row side windows.
The fully electric Shuttle Style models also contain a leatherette-wrapped multifunction steering wheel that is heated.

Volkswagen Transporter Kombi
The new Transporter Kombi offers an ideal balance of seating and load-carrying ability, so is perfect for getting a team to their next job, plus all of the tools they’ll need to carry it out.
All Kombi models have five seats as standard with the option of a sixth seat also available. As with other Transporter-based models, there are short and long-wheelbase options available. While the short-wheelbase version offers plenty of space for both kit and passengers, those who need that bit of extra load space will find the long-wheelbase model particularly useful.
The Kombi comes with a strong choice of powertrains, including the 110PS 6-speed manual, and 150PS and 170PS 8-speed utomatic engines. Then of course, there’s the fully electric powertrain, in which a single electric motor produces either 136PS, 218PS or 286PS from a 65kWh battery. Payload weights are comparable with those of the diesel model, too.
The new Transporter Kombi comes in two trim levels, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro, and both offer plenty of kit. Commerce Plus models feature body-coloured bumpers, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, a 12-inch digital driver display, a 13-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four USB sockets, four tie-downs in the load area (six in the long-wheelbase model), cruise control and numerous safety systems, including Lane Assist and Front Collision with Braking. The electric models add heated front seats, all-season tyres and a heat pump.
Move up to Commerce Pro and you’ll get extra kit including power-folding mirrors, privacy glass, adaptive cruise control (including Traffic Jam Assist on models with an automatic gearbox), wireless phone charging and no fewer than nine USB sockets. As with the Shuttle, electric models enhance this spec with a heated steering wheel.
So, the new Volkswagen Shuttle and Kombi enhance a Transporter offering that was already an incredibly capable multi-tasker, offering the ability to carry as much equipment or as many people as you could need.
The new Transporter comes with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' 5+ Promise, this includes five years’ warranty, five services, three MOTs and five years’ roadside assistance.
So, every Transporter variant has your back when you’re hard at work, and Volkswagen has your back when regular maintenance is required.
And that’s why the new Transporter is the kid that everyone wants to hang out with – because they’re just brilliant at everything.
