Toyota has reduced the CO2 emissions of its Land Cruiser 4x4 by using a new low-viscosity oil for the car's differential.

The change has cut emissions from 238g/km to 224g/km, dropping the Land Cruiser from Band L to Band K for vehicle excise duty. As a result, the cost of annual road tax has been reduced from 405 to 215.
The 190 reduction also affects the initial on-the-road price, so the entry-level LC3 3.0 D-4D model now costs 29,630. The top-spec Invincible version costs 38,145.
The revised model is on sale now.
