Used test: Nissan Qashqai vs Seat Ateca verdict

The Nissan Qashqai is Britain's best-selling family SUV, so there are plenty of great used ones to choose from, but is the Seat Ateca an even better secondhand buy?...

Used test - Nissan Qashqai vs Seat Ateca

Our Verdict

There's a lot to like about the Nissan Qashqai. It rides well, returns impressive fuel economy and comes with plenty of kit. Apart from its questionable reliability, the crux of why it – spoiler alert – places second in this used twin test comes mainly down to what it's up against.

The Seat Ateca is not only roomier and more practical than the Qashqai but is also quicker and more enjoyable to drive. Sure, we'd recommend going for the 1.4-litre petrol model instead of this diesel, due to it being more powerful and refined, but even in our test car's guise the model remains very impressive. It's certainly worth that extra £1000 over the Qashqai in our eyes.
