Deal of the Day: Lease a Nissan Qashqai from £206 per month

You could describe the Nissan Qashqai as something of a trailblazer, since it’s often the car credited with starting the family SUV trend that has swept the industry. Indeed, almost every manufacturer has its own version, but the Qashqai is continually at the top of the best-seller chart.
And it’s for good reason too, because the Qashqai is a solid contender in the family SUV segment, offering smooth engines and great value for money. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you might be pleased to know that you could put a new Qashqai on your driveway for as little as £206 per month.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £2465.88. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1552.74), which will cost £258.79 per month.
There are three engine options to choose from with the Qashqai, but our Deal of the Day comes with our preferred entry-level 1.3 DIG-T 140 mild hybrid engine, which pumps out 138bhp. It has enough grunt to drive around effortlessly in most situations, and it gets up to motorway speeds comfortably when you drop down a gear on the six-speed manual gearbox.
Our Deal of the Day also comes with our favourite 18in alloy wheels, which are comfortable and smooth over scruffy surfaces at low speeds. Indeed, they handle lumps and bumps better than the larger 19in and 20in wheels.
The Qashqai also benefits from a healthy amount of grip, but there are rivals out there that are more fun to drive, like the Seat Ateca. However, the Qashqai is pleasantly refined, so we think it should suit plenty of drivers.
We’re big fans of the Qashqai’s driving position. The driver’s seat is cushiony and lines up well with the pedals and steering wheel. It also gets adjustable lumbar support so you can drive around in comfort – and it offers a lofty driving position that SUV fans will appreciate.
Inside, you get a 12.3in infotainment touchscreen that offers polished graphics and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring. The system also gets a number of features including Google Maps, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which makes it really easy to use. You’ll also find some nice soft-touch materials furnishing the interior – indeed, it feels more plush than a lot of mainstream rivals.
As is the case with most family SUVs, the Qashqai offers plenty of space inside for even taller passengers to get comfortable. If you have young kids, you’ll appreciate the wide door openings that make it easy to access child car seats. However, some rivals, like the Kia Sportage, offer a lot more boot space.
