Vauxhall Insignia BiTurbo revealed

The Vauxhall Insignia BiTurbo which uses the car maker's most powerful diesel engine yet is available now, from 27,120.

Despite its 192bhp power output, the twin-turbocharged, 2.0-litre diesel engine emits just 129g/km of CO2, with average economy of 57.6mpg. Vauxhall quotes a 0-60mph time of 8.2 seconds.

Sequential turbo-charging helps to eliminate low-end lag, with both turbochargers working together at mid-range to maintain performance at higher speeds.

BiTurbo models also get active suspension, and Sport and Tour modes to adjust throttle response and steering settings. Optional extras include Adaptive Cruise Control and Vauxhalls new Front Camera System with traffic sign recognition and lane departure warning.

The Insignia BiTurbo is available in two- and four-wheel-drive on the SRI, SRI VX-line and Elite trims, for both the five-door hatch and Sports Tourer bodies.
