Volvo R-Design models revealed
* R-Design trim on S60, V60 and XC60 * More aggressive styling; sportier interior * On sale in June...
The Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 are the latest models to receive the company's R-Design treatment.
Unveiled at the New York motor show, the new R-Design models get lowered suspension, matt black grille, LED running lights and a rear diffuser.
Inside, there are sports seats covered in nubuck leather with blue R-Design logos, a black headlining and a changeable digital instrument cluster.
All engines will be available for R-Design cars, ranging from the D2 diesel that's used in the S60 and V60 to the 3.0-litre T6 petrol engine.
The 300bhp T6 is the most powerful option, but buyers can add the optional Polestar software to boost this to 325bhp. This takes the S60 from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds, the V60 in 6.0 seconds, while the XC60 takes 6.9.
Volvo predicts that nearly a third of UK buyers will choose R-Design models.
We expect prices to stay close to current figures, with the S60 from around 26,000, the V60 from 27,000 and the XC60 starting at around 31,000.
