What Car? Personal Shopper: best saloon for less than £32,000

Our recommendation – buy used

As always, your money goes further if you're buying used, and the fact that you can pick up our 2017 Car of the Year, with its smooth 2.0-litre diesel engine and class-leading infotainment system, for less than £32,000 is too good to ignore. Alternatively, stepping up to an Audi A6 or Jaguar XF means you need not be one of the executive saloon crowd; you'll be driving a luxury saloon instead.

Our recommendation this time, then, is to buy used.
