Overall

Features
This feels like a very comfortable seat, although the unusual stiffness of the straps (designed in a bid to help you slot your child in more easily) occasionally chafed around the neck. There's a decent close-fitting headrest, however, while the Tobi can be easily reclined to one of five set positions

Ease of operation
The seatbelt takes a slightly unusual route around the Tobi, but there's plenty of room to work in and the system provides a comfortingly secure fit. The stiff harness springs apart so you can put your child in a little more easily. This means you don't have to remember to hook back the straps before you pick up your child, but it doesn't offer quite as much space. We found ourselves angling our child one way to get one shoulder under the straps and then the other way to complete the manoeuvre. There are six height adjustments for the harness and it's an easy job to do.

Buying
The RRP is high, but you can save a little online.

Quality
Like other Maxi-Cosi products, this uses good-quality materials. It might not feel quite as luxurious or hard-wearing as the best, but it's well up there.

Special features
The way the harness holds itself apart is a helpful feature when you've got your hands full with a child.
