The best small SUV deals
If you're in the market for a new car, you naturally want the best price possible. And the good news is that by buying through What Car?, you're guaranteed to get a great deal without having to go through the hassle of haggling.
Today we've gathered the best deals on small SUVs, which we define as being anything shorter than 4.3m. These cars are exceptionally popular in the UK, because buyers love their raised driving positions and extra practicality over traditional family hatchbacks.

Citroën C3 Aircross
The C3 Aircross is an indirect replacement for Citroën's C3 Picasso MPV, which we always rated highly. But while the new car remains a practical choice – particularly if you go for the Flair model with its flexible rear seating – it's a lot more desirable than the old Picasso thanks to its funky SUV styling and numerous customisation options.
What Car? deal: Save £2341 on a 1.2 PureTech 130 Flair – Target Price £18,094
The Ecosport is Ford's smallest SUV model, and competes against rivals including the Renault Captur and Vauxhall Mokka X. It's got limited space inside for rear passengers, but we like its user-friendly infotainment system and its generous equipment.
What Car? deal: Save £1930 on a 1.0 EcoBoost 125 ST-Line auto – Target Price £21,070
The HR-V might look expensive next to its small SUV rivals, but healthy discounts are available and it combines good interior space with flexible seating and tidy handling.
What Car? deal: Save £2144 on a 1.6 i-DTEC EX – Target Price £25,536
If you regularly need to go off-road, then the Renegade is a suitable companion, with a spacious interior and an economical range of diesel engines.
What Car? deal: Save £934 on a 1.3 T4 GSE Longitude DDCT auto – Target Price £23,371
The Countryman is Mini's take on a small SUV, so mixes the cutesy styling of the big-selling Mini hatchback with a raised ride height and chunky body cladding. It's got a decent boot, too, and a high-quality interior.
What Car? deal: Save £1725 on a 2.0 Cooper D Sport auto [Comfort Pack] – Target Price £29,065
The Juke is a popular sight on UK roads, and with good reason: after all, it's the car which kicked off the trend for jacked-up family hatchbacks. It offers plenty of options for personalisation, and holds its value well.
What Car? deal: Save £3930 on a 1.2 DiG-T Tekna [Bose/Exterior+ Pack] – Target Price £16,970
In essence, the Captur is a Clio with a smattering of SUV traits and the style factor turned up. The result is a high-riding small hatchback that benefits from the added practicality of a sliding rear bench seat.
What Car? deal: Save £1117 on a 1.5 dCi 90 GT Line – Target Price £19,173
The Vitara can represent real value for money, thanks to its high levels of equipment and spacious interior. It's also reasonably spacious inside and has a range of capable engines.
What Car? deal: Save £1040 on a 1.4 Boosterjet SZ5 auto – Target Price £22,814
Vauxhall Mokka X
The Mokka X is Vauxhall's Renault Captur and Suzuki Vitara rival, and it's well equipped and available with generous discounts. It's just a shame that ride and refinement fall well below the class best.
What Car? deal: Save £5646 on a 1.4T Elite 4WD – Target Price £21,499
Volkswagen was quite late to the small SUV party, but its T-Roc is an excellent choice if you want a smaller SUV which has a premium interior. It's also spacious by the standards of this class, and has a comfortable ride.
What Car? deal: Save £1106 on a 1.5 TSI EVO Design – Target Price £23,039
