Car of the Year Awards 2026: Best MPV for value

For those who value space and versatility above style, MPVs make great buys. We’re looking for a car that’s pleasant to drive and spend time in, as well as good value and ruthlessly practical...

Best MPV for value

Dacia Jogger 1.0 TCe 110 Expression

WhatCar? Car of the Year Awards 2026 with Motoreasy

‘Family-sized’ has come to mean bigger, and inevitably more expensive. But the Dacia Jogger is positively fun-sized when it comes to pricing; starting at £18,995, it’s the cheapest brand new seven-seater you can buy.

There’s nothing cut-price about what you get, though, especially in our preferred (if slightly more expensive) Expression guise. It’s a well-thought-out way of carting seven people, because despite its relatively compact dimensions, there’s space for all but the tallest adults to fit in all three rows. It helps that the middle row can be slid back and forth. Plus, the boot is big, and the rearmost seats can be taken out altogether if you need more luggage space.

The driving experience is more of a mixed bag, because while it’s comfy and easy to drive, the Jogger is quite noisy, and the Kia PV5 is smoother and swifter. The Jogger affords good forward visibility, though, and parking is easy – particularly in Expression trim, which includes a rear camera.

The one big compromise is related to safety; the Jogger was awarded just one star when it was assessed by Euro NCAP, mainly due to a shortage of driver aids.
