Deal of the Day: Lease a Volkswagen Polo from £192 per month

If you’re in the market for a small car and the Volkswagen Polo is on your shortlist, then you’re looking in the right place – because, for us, it’s one of the best cars of its kind on the market.
Indeed, the Polo is extremely popular, and for good reason too. It’s great to drive, spacious inside and furnished with high quality materials. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you might be pleased to hear that you can put one on your driveway for as little as £186 per month with our leasing deals.
To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 24-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £1730.70. The annual 5000 mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.
If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1454.34), which will cost £242.39 per month.
There are three petrol engines available with the Polo, but our Deal of the Day features our favourite option – the 1.0-litre TSI 95. Its 94bhp output might sound rather pedestrian, but it pulls strongly from low revs and should suit most drivers.
In terms of comfort, though, the Polo is one of the smoothest small cars you can buy. Around town, it soaks up bumps and potholes better than a rival Seat Ibiza, and it feels pleasantly composed at motorway speeds. Our Deal of the Day comes matched to the Polo’s slick five-speed manual gearbox.
You won’t struggle to get comfortable in the Polo because every version comes with a generous amount of adjustment for the driver’s seat and steering wheel.
Inside, there’s an 8in infotainment touchscreen with an integrated sat-nav – but if you’d rather use your own apps, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring come as standard. We do find some of the touch-sensitive controls to be quite fiddly to operate on the move, though.
You’ll find very few scratchy plastics furnishing the Polo. Each version comes with a leather steering wheel and gearknob, and all the buttons, switches and stalks feel built to last. Indeed, it’s even more luxurious inside than the pricier Audi A1.
Interior space is a real highlight – tall drivers and passengers will have plenty of room to stretch out in the front and the rear, and the Polo’s 351 litres of boot space beats most rivals.
Our Deal of the Day comes kitted out in mid-spec Match trim, which gets 16in wheels, tinted rear windows, wireless phone charging and a reversing camera on top of the standard air conditioning, automatic windscreen wipers and heated and power-folding door mirrors.
