If you’re thinking about buying a new electric executive car, then you might have already given some thought to the BMW i4. Not only is it a rather understated, sleek-looking model, but it also possesses some impressive credentials, with punchy performance and a decent electric range.

The best executive cars combine supple luxury with affordability, and we think that the i4 is up there with the best in its class. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you’ll be pleased to know that you can save a packet on a new i4 with our free online New Car Deals service.

- Save £11,055 on a new BMW i4 35 70.2kWh M Sport Gran Coupe Auto

- Save £12,785 on a new BMW i4 35 70.2kWh Sport Gran Coupe Auto

- Save £14,451 on a new BMW i4 40 83.9kWh M Sport Gran Coupe Auto

- Save £17,705 on a new BMW i4 M50 83.9kWh Gran Coupe Auto 4WD

The entry-level option for the i4 is the eDrive35, which gets a 67kWh (usable capacity) battery and a power output of 282bhp. Despite being the least potent in the range, that’s still properly punchy.

That battery is good for an official range of 311 miles, which isn’t quite as far as some rivals, including the DS No 8 and Tesla Model 3, but it should be enough for most drivers.

When you combine the entry-level 35 battery option with higher-spec M Sport trim, you can save up to £11,055. That’ll get you 18in wheels, an M Sport steering wheel, Alcantara highlights, an M Sport spoiler and grey exterior highlights.

Opting for entry-level Sport trim will save you slightly more, at £12,785, and it comes with an array of features including 17in wheels (or 18in at no extra cost), a leather sports steering wheel, sports seats (the front ones are heated), three-zone climate control and cruise control.

If you’re in need of more range, you can specify a larger 80.7kWh battery, the eDrive 40, which can officially manage 371 miles between charges. And despite the extra weight, the i4 still handles with impressive precision. In M Sport guise, you could save up to £14,451 on a new i4 eDrive 40.

For some blisteringly fast pace, there’s the M60 version, which pumps out a hefty 593bhp and can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.7sec. For those extra thrills, though, you do have to compromise on range – the i4 M60 can officially manage 334 miles.

The M60 comes with its own exclusive trim, which adds 19in wheels, adaptive M suspension, M sport brakes, a sporty rear spoiler, a head-up display and plenty of driving assist functions. That combination will land you the biggest saving of £17,705.
