Police in the Irish republic have finally caught up with the country's most wanted driver.

The Irish cops were searching for serial offender Prawo Jazdy as he racked up speeding and parking offences across the country, but had escaped justice by giving numerous different addresses.

However, police have now discovered that Prawo Jazdy isn't one person or even a person at all.

It appears that officers booking Polish drivers have been taking down the title on the driving licence rather than the driver's name. See the photo, above.

'Prawo Jazdy is actually Polish for "driving licence" and not the forename and surname on the licence,' admitted an unnamed officer who works in the Garda's traffic division.

'Having noticed this, I decided to check and see how many times officers had made this mistake.

'It is quite embarrassing to see that the system has created Prawo Jazdy as a person with over 50 identities.'
