Speed limits, lighting and night vision
Mercedes is introducing speed sign-recognition and warning, plus automatic switching between the headlights' main and dipped
beams. Uniquely, the beam's range changes gradually rather than in one sudden switch, as with other systems. Mercedes engineers say gradual light changes are more restful for motorists' eyes.

The infra-red night vision camera system, pioneered in the S-Class, will be available on the new E-Class, and it now highlights pedestrians on the in-dash screen to give drivers an additional warning.
