Stunning BMW M1 Concept revealed

BMW has marked the 30th anniversary of the iconic M1's creation by unveiling a mid-engined sportscar concept.

The original Lamborghini-designed M1 was sold from 1978 to 1981, and remains the only-mid-engined BMW ever built.

The new concept car takes styling cues from the original, but features modern aerodynamic technology such as a rear diffuser and sculpted door mirrors.

As good as it looks, though, BMW is referring to the M1 Concept as a design study created to honour the original car's past.

That means it is unlikely to make production - something that's underlined by the absence of any photographs of its interior.
