The right gear

The right gear
The Boxster we drove had Porsches PDK seven-speed, twin-clutch transmission, a 1920 option. This allows you to swap ratios sequentially using steering wheel-mounted buttons, or if youre feeling lazY, theres a full automatic mode.

advertisment

Whichever mode you choose, gearchanges are lightning quick and largely jerk-free.

PDK makes your Boxster even faster, too, trimming a further tenth off the S models already blistering 5.3 second 0-62mph time.

That time is cut to five seconds dead if you combine your PDK gearbox with the optional Sports Chrono Plus Package for 713, because it gives you launch control. This maximizes power and traction, getting you off the line faster than a scalded Lewis Hamilton.
