Used test: BMW 3 Series vs Jaguar XE verdict

The BMW 3 Series is tough to beat, especially used, but should you be swayed by the suave Jaguar XE? It's available for the same money...

Used test: BMW 3 Series vs Jaguar XE

Our verdict

The Jaguar XE can give its competitor a good run for its money in a few key areas, with its strong performance, good handling and posh interior. It's well worth considering if you're looking for a used executive car.

However, the BMW 3 Series is the one we'd go out and buy. It's the more well-rounded executive car, being better on fuel, better for build quality and classier inside. This exemplary polish is why the 3 Series wins here and one of the reasons why we dubbed it our What Car? Used Car of the Year
