VW Up: 99 monthly deal postponed

VW Up buyers in the UK will not get offered the same juicy leasing deals as European customers, it has been revealed.

advertisment

Initially, it was planned that UK customers would be able to own the Up for 99 per month on a super-competitive leasing scheme, similar to one that was recently announced for Europe with the intention of attracting younger buyers.

VW UK insiders, however, have revealed that the Up will be in relative short supply after it hits UK showrooms in April and therefore the company does not need to offer such an incentive.

VW is not ruling out the possibility of introducing the 99 deal at a later date, however. It also remains to be seen whether Seat and Skoda will offer such leasing deals when the nearly identical Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo models go on sale in May and June respectively.
