For The BMW 4 Series is enjoyable to drive, generously equipped and competitively priced. It’s practical for a two-door car, too, with space for four adults and a large boot.
Against Refinement could be better and the interior is almost identical to the cheaper 3 Series saloon’s.

Target Price team says:
The 4 Series Coupe is available with a range of 2.0- and 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The 2.0-litre 420d diesel is the most sensible choice, but if you can afford it, the 3.0-litre 435i petrol is the one to go for. Or, if you want a proper sports car experience, the M4 lives up to the hallowed reputation of the M3 Coupe that it succeeds.
Whichever model you choose, we'd recommend going for the automatic gearbox (the manual 'box has a stiff and notchy shift action). We'd also add the optional Adaptive M Sports suspension (it is standard on the M4), because this improves ride comfort and handling.
Most versions are rear-wheel drive, but the 420i petrol and 420d and 430d diesels are also available in xDrive four-wheel-drive form. The 435d is four-wheel drive only.
