If there’s one thing you can usually rely on Ford to deliver, it’s a great drive. From small hatchbacks and family cars right through to MPVs and estates, the brand's models generally ride and handle that bit better than their peers.
The original Ford Ecosport was different, however. It was by no means terrible, especially after an early update, but by Ford's high standards, this rival to the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur was a dynamic disappointment.
When you factored in its other shortcomings – a low-rent interior, limited infotainment technology and a cumbersome side-hinged tailgate – it became hard to recommend. So does this latest version solve the problems?
Well, it's based on the Fiesta, which is a pretty good starting point. And while it's front-wheel drive only for now, a diesel four-wheel-drive version will join the range later.
