2017 Seat Ibiza FR review

Sporty trim levels can sometimes be a disaster, but not this one. In fact, we reckon FR is actually the pick of the new Ibiza range.

The reason for that has more to do with how much kit you get for your money than the way it drives, though. You see, SE trim (one rung down the ladder) misses out on the excellent 8.0in touchscreen infotainment system, automatic lights and wipers, a DAB radio and cruise control – all of which you’ll probably want and all of which you get as standard with FR. The range-topping Xcellence is worth a look, but it pushes up the price by a further Β£1300.

So, even though the FR doesn’t ride quite as smoothly as other Ibizas, it’s still plenty comfortable enough. It’s good value for money and keeps the Ibiza’s other strengths firmly intact, too. The fact that it looks a bit more interesting is merely the icing on the cake.
