Verdict
Given that we’ve only driven the Lexus RZ 450e on track, and much of our time with it was focused on the steer-by-wire system, it’s impossible to give a star rating at this time. But it’s clearly set to be a credible contender in the premium SUV ranks, and one that offers some key differences and technology to its rivals.
Order books will open later this year, when the RZ 450e is likely to cost from around £60,000. UK deliveries are due to begin in early 2023, with steer-by-wire models following in late 2023.
