Peugeot 3008 front right driving

If you’re looking for a family SUV with sharp looks that will stand out in the supermarket car park, then the Peugeot 3008 is well worth considering. Indeed, though such things are of course subjective, Peugeot as a brand is known for its stylish offerings, and its combustion-engined family workhorse is no exception.

On top of its looks, the 3008 is refined and pleasant to drive, plus it has plenty of storage space in the boot for all your belongings. So, if that all sounds good to you, then you might be pleased to know that you could put a new one on your driveway for as little as £228 per month.

To do that, you’ll need to opt for a 36-month contract with an annual mileage limit of 5000 miles, and an initial payment of £2731.99. The annual 5000-mile restriction isn’t a huge allowance, so you’ll have to be careful to avoid excess mileage charges.

If you regularly cover more miles, you could opt for a more common 36-month, 10,000-mile agreement with six months initial rental (£1753.86), which will cost £292.31 per month.

You can have your 3008 with either mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid power. Our Deal of the Day comes with the former, featuring a 1.2-litre petrol engine with assistance from a small battery and motor. It pumps out 143bhp and can manage a 0-62mph sprint in 10.2sec. That’s not quite as sprightly as a Volvo XC40 B3, but it’s strong enough for most buyers.

Likewise, most buyers won’t need anything that handles with more agility and grip than the 3008 – but if you’re a real driving enthusiast, it’s worth looking at the Cupra Formentor. Still, the 3008 is smooth and hushed at high speeds, which means it’s not hard to get comfortable on long motorway journeys.

Peugeot 3008 dashboard

Inside, the 3008 is a far cry from the more conservatively-styled Kia Sportage, with futuristic features like ‘floating’ air vents and screens, plus a nice mix of grey, silver and black materials. It’s one of the most upmarket interiors in the class, too – only pricier family SUV rivals have it beat.

Elsewhere inside, there’s a large 21.0in display panel at the top of the dashboard combining the digital driver’s display and infotainment touchscreen. The graphics are crisp and clear, and it’s easy to reach while you’re driving, although some of the menus are a bit complicated. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come as standard.

There’s plenty of leg room inside the 3008, but rear passengers will find headroom a little compromised due to the sloping roofline. Still, with 588 litres of boot space, the 3008 is one of the most practical models in its class – plus the rear seats fold in a handy 40/20/40 split.

Our Deal of the Day comes in our favourite Allure Premium trim, which comes with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control, on top of the standard 19in dual-zone climate control and fabric and faux leather upholstery.
